Street art in Bratislava

Introduction

Most of the street art in Bratislava is legal and planned. Huge murals are created during festivals. 

There are legal walls, for example Janíkov dvor in Petržalka. Graffiti jams are also organised. 

Street art festival at Kamenné námestie

This parking lot is probably the main place for street art, because the Bratislava street art festival takes place here regularly. Therefore, there is a few murals. Not far, there is a few mosaics. 

Street art corp. Ego/Vanity by Cart’1

The words Vanity and ego are repeated hundreds of times on the blue wallpaper. Cart’1 is a French street artist from Lyon. He painted this mural during the 2020 festival.

Rozjimanie by Fin Dac

This mural,  part the 2020 Bratislava street art festival, was painted with a brush. 

The artist “ wanted it to represent a quiet moment found amidst the madness of the world we currently live in.”

There is a focus on traditional clothing and headwear. The model was Linda Gunisova.

This mural is painted above a café garden.

Mosaic by Fero Guldan

The mosaic was created by the Slovakian artist Fero Guldan.

King touching the Moon by Fero Guldan

The mosaic called King touching the Moon (Král’ siaha na Mesiac) was created by Fero Guldan in 2000.

Bratislava Old town statues 

There are various  bronze statues in the old district, near the main square. 

Čumil the Sewer Worker

Situated between Laurinská and Panská streets, the bronze statue of a sewer worker seems to looks at tourists from a manhole.

According to the local folklore, a wish will come true,  if you touch his head.

Napoleonic soldier 

Situated in the main square, the statue refers to Bratislava history. Napoleon’s army was in Bratislava in 1805. The solider is leaning on a bench.

Slovak post girls

The girls sat  on top and under a postbox, which is real and for use.

It’s in a nice Bratislava square.

Františkánská zahrada 

The garden has two statues.

Woman with candle by Linda Gréková

It was created in 2019 by the grafic designer and artist Linda Gréková, on an electricity distributor. It is part of a Street art campaign against violence.

SNP bridge murals

Under the famous bridge, there are murals on both sides. 

World War II mural

Near the bus stop, there is a mural on the pillar.

Under the UFO tower, a Bratislava cityscape is painted.
