Odvaha (Courage) by Jaroslav Róna
This high statue, created in 2015, caused a controversy. It symbolizes the courage, one of Plato’s four virtues.
Jaroslava Róna created this equestrian statue in honor of Jošt of Luxembourg (Moravian). The horse has unusually long legs. Thanks to this, it does not need a plinth, and yet rises to an unusual height.
There is often a queue of interested people who want to look at the statue from below. If the viewer stands between the front legs and looks up at the horse’s head, a surprising picture awaits him.

Ants on a house by Petra Vlachynská
These ants can be seen on the facade of house No. 18 in Orlí street.
After the reconstruction of the house, its owner turned to Petra Vlachynská, and out of several of her designs, he was most interested in the ant. In the end, they agreed that instead of one ant, they would decorate the house with a whole line of ants that travel from one entrance to the other.
According to the author, ants harmonize with the natural decor of the Art Nouveau facade of the house and, as social insects, they are also a symbol of the human swarming that is an inherent part of the city center.

Hrachovina (Peas) by Jaromír Gargulák
The bronze monument by Jaromír Gargulák called Hrachovina is dedicated to the memory of the important geneticist Gregor Johann Mendel.
The concept of the statue is based on the basic principles of heredity. The continuous twelve-ton bronze monument consists of four horizontal and vertical units. The dominant feature of the monument is a square with sixteen stelae in the form of sprouts, on top of which peas grow in colors and shapes proportionally corresponding to Mendel’s discoveries.
Its central part describes Mendel’s 3rd law: 9 round yellow, 3 square yellow, 3 round green, 1 square green.
